Lockouts reference
Reference page for every irreversible decision that can lock you out of an ending. Each lockout has its own section below with the full rule, the source, and a live status check against your progress. The route map on the home page is where you actually track these — this page is the encyclopedia.
Mr. Kerman's offer — accept or refuse
Right after Falling Skies, Mr. Kerman calls and offers a deal. Accept and you stay on track for Savior, Debtor, or Fallen. Refuse and you're locked into Survivor — no take-back. This is the very first irreversible decision in the whole story route.
TL;DR: You MUST ACCEPT. Declining ends Savior/Debtor/Fallen — pushes you to Survivor.
Agree to find dirt on Kaban
Once you've accepted Kerman, he asks you to gather compromising material on Kaban. Agreeing keeps both Savior and Debtor open. Refusing locks you into Fallen and Prapor's hash-codes route. Same rule as commit #1: irreversible.
TL;DR: You MUST AGREE. Refusing → Fallen.
Evidence hand-in — all 8 majors (or stop at 2)
After agreeing to find dirt, you'll collect 8 pieces of major evidence across multiple chapters (Bluefire, Witness, Labyrinth, Batya, Unheard, TAAH, and Ms. A). Hand in all 8 to the security guard for Savior. Stop at 2 or fewer for Debtor. Stopping anywhere between 3 and 7 is wasted — both endings close.
TL;DR: Hand in all 8. Stopping ≤2 → Debtor.
BTR quest — pick the right trader
Late in the Savior route, BTR Driver and Skier offer what looks like the same quest. They're not the same. Take BTR Driver's 'The Price of Independence' to stay on Savior. Take Skier's 'Choose Your Friends Wisely' and you silently drop off the Savior path onto Fallen. Easy to pick wrong because the trader UI doesn't warn you.
TL;DR: Take BTR Driver's The Price of Independence. Completing Skier's CYFW ends Savior.
Don't harm Lightkeeper's people
An ongoing rule, not a one-time decision: never harm Zryachiy or his cultist followers, and never harm a PMC who's signed Lightkeeper's DSP transmitter. Each violation decodes part of your transmitter, and enough decoding permanently breaks Lightkeeper interactions for this wipe. Treat as a permanent rule of engagement throughout the whole route.
TL;DR: Harming them decodes your DSP transmitter and locks LK interactions.
Ongoing — treat as permanent rule.
